The MyGlobalCam Observation Portal utilizes proprietary MyglobalCam software that allows you to webcast from and view multiple cameras at the same time. Your PC camera turns into your own personal observation and monitoring surveillance station! And because the MyGlobalCam Observation Portal uses peer-to-peer (P2P) connections instead of going through one server, there is no slow down due to server bottlenecks. The more bandwidth you have, the more viewers you can support. To maximize the use of your available bandwidth, just reduce the frame size you broadcast to your viewers, thus allowing more viewers to simultaneously watch your webcast.

Users' connected to MyGlobalCam Observation Portal user’s CamServer via a browser can also chat with each other via a browser in a public or private chat room, if allowed to do so by the camera owner. The person owning the PC Camera and running MyGlobalCam's CamServer has complete control over who is able to log on, can kick anyone out at any time, and monitor who logs on or logs out to view the streaming video.

How Does It Work?

In simplest terms, the MyGlobalCam Observation Portal acts both like an agent and broker: like an agent, it allows two parties to locate each other. It then makes a direct connection between them and then gets out from the middle. In other words, it brokers an "Internet connection" between a cam owner and a viewer.

The camera owner creates an account on the MyGlobalCam Observation and Monitoring website, creates the viewer accounts for viewers and runs the MyGlobalCam CamServer on his/her PC. The MyGlobalCam CamServer connects the PC Cam to the Internet. When an authorized viewer logs on to watch the video stream from the PC Cam, a direct connection or a peer-to-peer connection, is established between the viewer and the PC Cam.
